Living in a city like Las Vegas can be challenging regarding the gambling, in a bad or in good way. Here a little foreword: gambling in America is different than Italy, in Italy gambling is seen only like a bad habit while in America gambling is seen as a fun activity. In Usa there are casinos in every city and not only in 4 like in Italy. How to find a balance between how much gamble and how gamble? Rule number 1) Gamble an amount of money that you can afford to lose, losing is part of the game! Rule number 2) fix a budget and stay with it. Rule number 3) know the game you want to play and how much can be the payoff; Joseph and I used to keep track of our gambling winnings and losses in an excel sheet (yes call me control freak) but I stopped because I used to react really bad when I saw the minus sign before a number. Here some tips to help you to play in Las Vegas: Bring a watch because in the Casinos there aren’t any clock (so you lose control of the time and you gamble more), STOP when you double your maximum budget, in Las Vegas Casinos if you are playing the drinks are free (but give a tip to the waiter or he/she will not come back for more drinks). Me and Joseph use to gamble 2/3 times a month and our favorite games are Black Jack, Video Poker and funny slot machines with some bonus games in it, Britney Spears’ one is amazing. Have a safe play!

Vivere in una città come Las Vegas per quanto riguarda il gioco può essere una cosa buona o cattiva. Piccola premessa: il gioco qui in America non è esattamente come in Italia, è visto come un divertimento e non come un brutto vizio come in Italia, i Casinò sono in tutte le città e non solo in 4 città come in Italia. Come trovare un bilancio su quanto giocare e come giocare? Regola numero uno: giocare solo quello che puoi perdere, perdere è parte del gioco. Regola numero due: fissare un budget e essere fedeli. Regola numero tre: conoscere il gioco a cui si sta giocando e quanto potrebbe essere la vincita; Io e Joseph inizialmente tenevamo il conto delle vincite con un foglio excel (si chiamatemi maniaca del controllo) ma quando vedevo un segno meno toglievo il divertimento alla serata passata. Ecco alcuni piccoli consigli per giocare a Las Vegas: portarsi un orologio, non ci sono orologi nei casinò così le persone perdono la cognizione del tempo e giocano di più, fermarsi SEMPRE quando si è raddoppiato il budget, a Las Vegas se giochi i drink sono gratis (ma lasciate la mancia alla cameriera o non tornerà con altri drink). Io e Joseph giochiamo circa 2/3 volte al mese e i nostri giochi preferiti sono Black Jack, Video Poker e le slot machine con qualche giochino, la slot di Britney Spears è fantastica. Easter at the Mt. Charleston - Pasqua sul Monte Charleston

Yesterday Joseph and I have passed our Easter day at the Mt. Charleston, 30 minutes from Las Vegas, and we had lunch at the unique Mt. Charleston Lodge restaurant. After a not so light lunch, of course including a bottle of wine and alcoholic coffee, we had hiked towards the Mary Jane waterfall,  a 1,5 miles trail (one way) starting from 7870 ft and reaching 9270 ft.  The waterfall at the end wasn't too STRONG but the view of the mountains covered by snow was really breathtaking. On the way back we deviate to the Lee Canyon and I found out that there is a SKI AREA, next year I will be there every weekend

Ieri io e Joseph abbiamo passato la Pasqua al fresco sul Monte Charleston a circa 30 minuti da Las Vegas, e abbiamo pranzato in un tipico lodge, il Mt. Charleston lodge restaurant. Dopo pranzo non proprio leggero, vino e caffe' alcolico compresi, abbiamo camminato verso la cascata Mary Jane, un sentiero di circa 2,5 km (solo andata) partendo da un'altitudine di 2400 metri e arriva fino a 2800 metri. La cascata alla fine del sentiero non era proprio PIENA (due goccine) ma la vista sulle montagne innevate era davvero impagabile. Sulla via del ritorno abbiamo deviato per Lee Canyon e ho scoperto un COMPRENSORIO SCIISTICO, l'anno prossimo saro' li tutti i weekend!

Il Volo in Las Vegas

Yesterday I acted really Italian and I took my sweet husband (he listens classic rock) at the concert of Il Volo at the Pearl Theatre at the Palms: I think that everyone knows the talent of the three italian boys and the show was really moving! The two facts that shocked me the most were: how famous the Italian trio is here in the USA and how funny they were between one song and another, of course Ignazio has imitated the Godfather.

P.S. The crowd was mainly Italian or Italo-American.

Ieri sera da buona Italiana che si rispetti ho trascinato il mio maritino (che principalmente ascolta Classic Rock) al concerto de Il Volo al Pearl Theatre del Palms: credo sia noto che i tre ragazzi italiani abbiano un elevato talento e lo show è stato veramente emozionante! Le cose che mi hanno colpito di più sono state principalmente due: quanta fama abbia il trio scoperto dalla Clerici qui in America e soprattutto quanto lo show sia stato divertente con piccole messe in scena durante le pause tra una canzone e l'altra, ovviamente non è mancato l'imitazione del Padrino da parte di Ignazio.

P.S. Il parterre era composto principalmente da emigranti Italiani o Italo-Americani.

Party With A Hero

My husband, beyond his full time job, has a company called Party With A Hero and he transforms himself in a superhero for making children (and not only) happy during different occasions such as birthdays or community events! Yesterday, with the precious help of Bryton, we have participated to the Super Hero Event at the Central Church of Henderson and I saw my husband doing this for the first time: IT WAS AWESOME. All the kids were so excited and happy to meet Spiderman and Batman! Take a look at this pictures, aren't they adorable?

Mio marito, oltre al suo lavoro a tempo pieno, ha una società Party With A Hero dove si trasforma in un supereroe per fare i bambini (e non solo) felici durante occasioni speciali come compleanni o eventi della comunità! Ieri, con il prezioso aiuto di Bryton, abbiamo partecipato all'evento Super Hero night presso la Central Church di Henderson e ho visto mio marito a fare questo per la prima volta: E ' STATO FANTASTICO. Tutti i bambini erano così eccitati e felici di incontrare Spiderman e Batman! Date un'occhiata a queste foto, non sono adorabili?

American shopping is really favorable for, not only, the Italians: the exchange Euro-Dollars (lately less), the outlets and brands really expensive in Italy. When I came back from the States for the first time I had add a huge luggage for all the shopping I did. Following my favorite shopping locations here in Las Vegas.

Lo shopping in America per gli italiani, e non solo, è molto favorevole: cambio Euro-Dollaro (ultimamente meno), gli outlet e marche che in Italia costano un occhio della testa mentre qui molto meno. Quando sono tornata in Italia la prima volta ho dovuto portare con me una valigia enorme in più. Ecco le 3 location dove preferisco fare shopping qui a Las Vegas.

Formula 1 in Las Vegas

Finally the Formula 1 championship has come back!!!! Have you seen the Australian Gran Prix in Melbourne this weekend? Excluding the qualifications, it has been a great race, a REAL SHOW. Wonderful starting for both Ferraris, Alonso accident, the inside battle between the young drivers from Toro Rosso, the surprise final for the Haas F1 Team and Grosjean and the victory of Rosberg! In USA is more difficult to find F1 fans with whom watch th GP (maybe in some italian restaurant/bistrot). Unfortunately the only race in USA is in Austin in October and the other race near to the States is in Mexico City in November. Two years ago there were some rumors about the Formula 1 circus coming back in Las Vegas but then there weren't any updates, what a pity. If there are some Formula 1 fans here in Las Vegas that want to contact me with the goal to start a "watchers club" please don't hesitate to contact me.

Finalmente il campionato di Formula 1 è iniziato! Chi di voi ha seguito il Gran Premio d'Australian tenutosi a Melbourne questo weekend? Escludendo le qualifiche, è stato davvero uno SPETTACOLO. Fantastica la partenza delle due Ferrari, l'incidente di Alonso, la lotta intestina tra i giovani della Toro Rosso, il finale a sorpresa della Haas F1 Team di Grosjean e la vittoria di Rosberg! In America ovviamente è più difficile trovare appassionati come me con cui guardare il GP (magari in qualche ristorante/bistrot italiano). Ahimè l'unica gara negli Stati Uniti è in Ottobre a Austin e un altro appuntamento vicino è a Città del Messico a Novembre. Circa due anni fa c'erano dei gossip riguardo un ritorno della Formula 1 qui a Las Vegas ma poi non se n'è più sentito parlare, peccato. Se qualche appassionato di Formula 1 a Las Vegas vuole mettersi in contatto magari per iniziare un "watchers club" non esitate a contattarmi!

Every Italian have a big problem here in USA (and in the rest of the World): the coffee. Everyone know that the best coffee in the World is in Italy and that abroad the concept of coffee is totally different. How can an Italian survive? Here is my three ways to have coffee in Las Vegas.

Da Italiana ho un grave problema qui in USA (e nel resto del mondo): il caffè. Si sa che il migior caffè al mondo è in Italia e all'estero il concetto di caffè è ben diverso. Come poter sopravvivere? Ecco i tre "modi" in cui bevo il caffè a Las Vegas.
